What Is Behavioral Self-Regulation?īehavioral self-regulation is “the ability to act in your long-term best interest, consistent with your deepest values” (Stosny, 2011). ![]() We’ll explore the difference between the two below. Psychologists might be referring to one of two things when they use the term “self-regulation”: behavioral self-regulation or emotional self-regulation.
